Market wrap: Hammerson among top risers

Hammerson made the list of the top risers in the FTSE 250 today.

The shopping centre owner’s shares rose by just over 3% to finish the day at 33.13p, a fresh high since the company completed a recapitalisation and share consolidation last September.

Hammerson’s stock has been rising since the UK government outlined plans to reopen parts of the economy, including non-essential retail.

The biggest real estate rise of the day came from Town Centre Securities, which hit a near-high of 144p after a 4.4% lift.

The FTSE closed at 6,630 points, down by 0.3%. The FTSE 250 finished the day at 20,961 points, down by 1.6%.
