Amazon opens till-free store at Quintain’s Wembley Park

Amazon has opened its next till-free Amazon Fresh store in Quintain’s Wembley Park development, in north west London.

The company’s latest 2,500 sq ft store uses its “Just Walk Out” technology, allowing customers to enter with a credit card and then have items automatically billed to them. Amazon opened its first such store in the UK earlier this month, in Ealing.

Quintain hopes that the 85-acre Wembley Park, which will eventually be home to some 20,000 residents and could attract 20m visitors annually, will ultimately draw in more retail spend than other areas of London including Camden and Victoria.

Matt Slade, retail director at Quintain, said: “Wembley Park is not only among the largest and most all-embracing urban transformations currently underway in Europe, it’s also one that combines innovation, enterprise and leading brands to become an exceptional place to live, work and visit.”
