Market wrap: Hammerson tops FTSE 350 fallers

Hammerson fell back further from its post-recapitalisation highs today, a double-digit drop marking the sharpest decline anywhere in the FTSE 350 index.

The company’s shares ended the day at 31.40p, down by 10.3% but still above the 23p at which its various tranches of shares were consolidated after a financing last year.

The day’s biggest real estate gain in percentage terms was posted by small-cap Dukemount Capital, up by 25% to 1p.

In the FTSE 100, British Land and Landsec were among the day’s steepest fallers, down by 2.3% and 1.6% respectively.

The FTSE 100 finished the day at 6,726, up by 0.3%, while the FTSE 250 stood at 21,455, up 0.2%.
