Market wrap: Unite holds steady after £133m portfolio sale

Shares in student accommodation provider Unite inched up by 0.7%, after the landlord offloaded a 2,284-bed portfolio for £133m.

Unite ended the day at 1,078p after selling eight properties to Aventicum Real Estate.

Notable real estate risers on the stock exchange included Hammerson, which was up 8% at nearly 36.2p.

The FTSE 100 climbed 0.5% to finish the session at 6,772 points, while the FTSE 250 was up by around 0.6% at 21,574 points.
