Asset manager Tikehau Capital and Rob Tincknell’s Areli Real Estate have bought Sega’s European head office in Brentford, west London, in their latest redevelopment play.
It is thought the pair bought the office block, at 27 and 1035 Great West Road, W6, for around £40m.
As well as the 104,448 sq ft Sega Building, the four-acre freehold site includes a 15,945 sq ft industrial building and 245 surface carparking spaces.
The acquisition brings Tikehau Capital’s total real estate investment commitment to the UK, in partnership with Areli, to around £160m since 2019.
Brentford Community Council has identified the site as suitable for a tall building cluster and a minimum of 500 homes.
Frederic Jariel, co-head of real estate at Tikehau Capital, said the site offered “significant upside opportunity through redevelopment”.
Tincknell said: “As demonstrated by our recent planning success in Maidenhead and our ongoing work in Orpington, the partnership between our two firms is successfully generating mixed-use regeneration schemes that deliver real benefits to local communities.”
Tikehau and Areli previously bought the Nicholsons Shopping Centre in Maidenhead and Orpington’s Walnuts Shopping Centre in 2019, both of which are being planned as comprehensive new town centres.
The Maidenhead redevelopment secured unanimous approval earlier this month. Works are expected to complete in 2026.
