Numerous landlords, including Hammerson and Capital & Regional, ended the day in the green as London stocks enjoyed a boost from recovery optimism.
Hammerson posted the biggest gains on the FTSE 250, up by just over 6.7% to nearly 38p.
Housebuilder Persimmon was among the top 10 performers on the FTSE 100, with shares up 2.6% to 3,173p.
Other notable property risers on the stock exchange included BMO Real Estate Investments, up 4.7% at 79.8p, and Capital & Regional, up 3.1% at 87.1p.
Shares in Capital & Counties rose by just over 3% to finish the day at 179.5p, while Landsec was up 2.4% at 717.8p. British Land edged up by 0.7% to 518.2p.
The FTSE 100 was up 0.9% at 6,885 points, while the FTSE 250 closed up 0.8% at 22,160.
