Henry Boot has obtained planning permission for a new 2m sq ft distribution warehouse at Wakefield Hub, a 200-acre industrial and logistics scheme in Yorkshire.
The decision by Wakefield Council means that work will start on-site in May, including a new road through the scheme, extensive landscaping, and a warehouse which developers say could create up to 1,500 jobs.
The application was made jointly by Mountpark and Newmarket Lane, a joint venture between Henry Boot’s property development business HBD and Yorkcourt.
Ed Hutchinson, managing director of HBD, said: “We are very pleased that the planning committee has approved the application for this latest development at Wakefield Hub – it’s brilliant news for Wakefield and is a huge vote of confidence in the city as a place to invest.”
