NHS Property Services is leaving the City of London for a new office in Canary Wharf.
The company, which owns 10% of the NHS estate, has taken 25,000 sq ft at 10 South Colonnade, E14, (pictured) leased to the Government Property Agency.
Last year, EG revealed the organisation was weighing up its future at 99 Gresham Street, EC2, as part of a broader cost-cutting drive.
At the time, chief executive Martin Steele said: âI think every single major corporate is looking at their property overhead and thinking âwhat do we do?â Youâve got to really consider what the new normal looks like, and we are doing exactly that right now and involving our teams and asking the question. Weâve got a central London head office â do we need that? If we do, should it be smaller?â
The move is a slight downsize from the 27,416 sq ft that the company took in the Square Mile, and marks a new strategy focused on more flexible working.
