March was a bumper month for the recruitment of real estate lawyers, according to Vacancysoft, a consultancy that provides data, trends and analysis on the UK labour market.
According to the data, law firms in England and Wales published 157 vacancies for property lawyers in March. That’s an increase of 134% on February and is the highest level of recruitment for two years.
Vacancysoft attributed the rise in recruitment activity to an increasingly buoyant housing market as the UK comes out of lockdown.
“The real estate market is recovering well, in part owing to the speed of the mass vaccination drive and the easing of lockdown measures,” said James Chaplin, chief executive of Vacancysoft.
“As travel restrictions are lifted, we’ll also see more international buyers looking to invest into the UK. Recruiters in the space will no doubt be busy over the coming months,” he said.
