Enfield Council selects team for 800-home BTR site

Enfield Council has chosen 13 architects to support the latest stage of the £6bn Meridian Water development.

The council will work with the consortium on the 800-home build-to-rent and affordable housing site in the fourth phase of the scheme.

Enfield has selected companies from diverse backgrounds to advise the selection of an architect as it brings forward the next phase.

Meridian Four is located next to Pymmes Brook, Salmon Brook and the Lee Navigation, to the north of the council’s proposed Brook Park.

Earlier this year EG reported that the council was seeking a funder for a scheme of 804 homes, of which 500 would be BTR. The council had flagged the tenure as valuable for diversity and accelerating delivery.

Nesil Caliskan, leader of Enfield Council, said: “We want Meridian Water to be exemplar in design terms, but also in terms of how we deliver the project. We have an obligation to society to provide equality of opportunity to people regardless of their gender and ethnicity, and this project supports that goal.”
