Europa makes retirement housing debut with Denmark deal

Europa Capital has bought its first retirement housing project with a €45m (£39m) investment in Helsingør, Denmark.

The investor has purchased the 166-home scheme in a joint venture with Copenhagen-based Keystone Investment Management and Ailon Group.

The development comprises 108 build-to-rent homes adapted for senior living and 58 assisted-living homes, let to Nordic care provider Attendo.

The wider site also includes a GP surgery. Construction is under way, with completion expected in Q1 2023.

The acquisition builds on Europa’s BTR and student investment, which has seen €1bn invested in 10,500 beds across the UK, Spain, Denmark and Germany.
