UBS names new head of European real estate research

UBS Asset Management has promoted European real estate analyst Zachary Gauge to head up the division.

Gauge, a former CBRE analyst who has worked at UBS since 2014, has taken on the role of head of real estate research and strategy for Europe, excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He takes over the post from Gunnar Herm, who held the role since 2006. Herm will now focus on his other role as head of portfolio management and strategy for Germany and Austria.

Gauge will work alongside portfolio manager and research director Nicola Franceschini and the company’s European analyst pool.

London-based senior real estate market analyst Fergus Hicks will continue to lead the research strategy for global markets, while Brice Hoffer will continue as head of research for the DACH region.
