CBRE hires BNP PRE UK retail and alternatives boss

CBRE has hired Andrew Hulme, head of retail and alternatives at BNP Paribas Real Estate, as an executive director leading its UK retail investment team.

Hulme will head the team alongside Phil Cann. He will lead on out-of-town retail, while Cann’s focus is on London retail investment.

The move marks a return to CBRE for Hulme, who began his career at the agency focusing on the retail occupier market, before turning to retail warehouse investment and out-of-town retail.

He joined legacy Strutt & Parker in 2005 as a national partner, before he was promoted to equity partner in 2013 when he was 32 years old. He latterly ran the retail and alternatives teams at BNP PRE as a senior director.

Cann said: “We recognise the significant changes brought upon the retail sector over the past few years and now more than ever, clients need considered advice as they continue to adapt and evolve.

“Andrew is a well-known figure within the industry with exceptional client relationships and will bring extensive retail expertise that will allow us to further strengthen our team of over 100 retail experts.”
