A mixed-use development with 819 student beds has received planning consent in Bedminster Green, south Bristol.
Local developer Deeley Freed secured permission from Bristol City Council for the development of a brownfield site between Dalby Avenue and Whitehouse Lane, next to the River Malago.
The land is a key site within the Bedminster Green framework area and is currently occupied by a car park, car repair business and car sales business.
Deeley Freed will build two buildings incorporating 6,000 sq ft of flexible employment space and a new pedestrian and cycle route.
Max Freed, development manager at Deeley Freed, said: “It will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of Bedminster Green, enabling the Dalby Avenue, Whitehouse Lane and River Malago improvements to be brought forward by the council.
“It will also significantly help the revitalisation of nearby East Street – over £5m of annual student spend will be a massive boost to the local economy.”
