Mike Ashley will take his long-running battle over Debenhams to the High Court.
The Frasers Group boss has applied to have a settlement, agreed earlier this year with Debenhams’ administrators, set aside, which would allow him to take further legal action.
Ashley agreed the settlement with FRP Advisory as part of his deal to buy the fixtures and fittings in Debenhams empty stores, which was itself an attempt to gain the whip hand over landlords on stores he wished to add to the Frasers portfolio.
Ashley now wants to be able to pursue legal action over the 2019 pre-pack administration which sold Debenhams to a Silver Point Capital-led consortium, wiping out Ashley’s 30% stake.
