Grosvenor has been filling its Liverpool ONE complex with leisure to ensure that people will want to stay, but now it has a tenant that people will be eager to escape.
Escape Live has taken 8,800 sq ft at the 2.5m sq ft centre for its debut venue in the North West. The space will be reconfigured to offer six escape rooms, one of which will be an official Peaky Blinders immersive experience, based on the BBC TV series. The 60-minute escape rooms will be accompanied by a virtual reality arena, a private room for bookings of up to 40 people, and a rooftop terrace bar.
Escape Live will add to Grosvenor’s “socialising” offer, which already includes On the Green and Junkyard Golf, for those who like their golf to be realistic or nihilistic, and hoops and pool bar venue Roxy Ball Room.
Grosvenor’s head of asset management, Alison Clegg, said: “Competitive socialising continues to be an exciting growth area, with consumers keen to spend more on experiences. Liverpool ONE is in a great position to be able to diversify with new concepts and formats to effectively meet this demand. We look forward to welcoming Escape Live to Liverpool ONE this summer, complementing our wider leisure and dining line-up.”
The Birmingham-based Escape Live currently has five sites across England. Managing director Jas Sodhi said: “When considering our expansion plans, Liverpool ONE was the ideal choice for its unbeatable inner-city location and dedication to experience-led ventures.”
Metis acted for Liverpool ONE, while Kelion Sworn represented Escape Live.
