John Lewis takes 1m sq ft from Tesco in Milton Keynes

John Lewis has acquired a 1m sq ft distribution centre in Milton Keynes under a deal with Tesco.

The department store chain said that it had signed an agreement with Tesco to lease the site for 11 years.

It will become John Lewis’s second largest centre after another in the Buckinghamshire town.

The retailer said that since the pandemic online sales had risen from 40% of its total sales to more than 60%.

John Lewis has 10 distribution sites in the UK and has signed a three-year lease agreement for a 300,000 sq ft distribution centre in Leicestershire, which it will start using this month.
