Online food delivery marketplace Just Eat Takeaway has appointed JLL to seek leaseholds for inner-city courier hubs across the UK and Europe.
The hubs form part of Just Eat’s Scoober delivery model in Europe, which has employed couriers.
Scoober locations provide spaces for couriers to begin and end their shifts, as well as housing its fleet of e-bikes and materials. It is active in more than 200 cities in 14 markets.
Just Eat is seeking properties measuring between 5,000 and 20,000 sq ft.
Ashley Smart, EMEA logistics business development director at JLL, said: “There is an increasing demand for last-mile urban logistics space, which this mandate underpins.
“Our aim is to identify inner city industrial units for JET, as well as identifying obsolete space that may have come around as a result of the accelerated shift towards e-commerce.”
Mark Deumer, senior vice president for logistics at Just Eat Takeaway, said: “Due to our growth we’re expanding our existing network of Scoober hubs across Europe.
“Our aim is to locate properties that are within close vicinity to our partner restaurants and customers so Scoober can best serve them and keep up with the demand for our services.”
JLL has previously secured leaseholds for Just Eat within cities including London, Brighton, Cambridge, Liverpool, Rome, Milan, Bordeaux, Lille, and Lyon.
