Crown Estate Scotland signs green energy firm

Crown Estate Scotland has signed Bute Energy on a five-year lease at its office property on George Street, Edinburgh.

Bute, a low-cost renewable energy provider, has taken 4,587 sq ft at the site, paying £98,620 a year for the space. The deal leaves one remaining suite within the building, on the first floor.

Fiona Simpson, asset manager for Crown Estate Scotland, said: “[Bute Energy’s] aim of providing renewable energy and working with local communities fits in well with Crown Estate Scotland’s own ethos.”

JLL and Cushman & Wakefield advised the landlord.
