Patrizia UK director goes to asset manager Abrdn

Asset manager Abrdn has hired Tom Stenhouse, managing director at Patrizia UK, to head up its real estate strategic capital arm.

Stenhouse joins the Edinburgh-based fund manager after eight years at Patrizia UK, first as a director, then managing director.

There, he worked on around £2bn of acquisitions across both the UK and Ireland, and also headed up the corporate finance, structuring and transactional management operations.

He was also a director at Tamar Capital Partners, where he worked on the 2011 buyout of the western European part of the company’s property asset management business, which had £600m of assets under management at the time. Tamar was then bought by Patrizia.

Stenhouse said: “Having spent the last 10 years with Tamar Capital and then Patrizia post sale of our business to them it is now time for a new journey.

“It’s incredibly exciting to be joining abrdn to head up its real estate strategic capital side to focus on developing bespoke mandates and solutions for large real estate investors. I very much look forward to working with Neil Slater and the wider team at Abrdn.

“I look forward to opening up new discussions and opportunities as we expand this business line.”
