Lloyds Banking Group will close another 48 Lloyds and Halifax branches early next year.
The group said 41 Lloyds and seven Halifax branches across England and Wales would shut between January and April. It follows 56 branches which closed in spring and a further 44 due to close by November.
Lloyds announced in July that pretax profit across the group had soared to £2bn in the three months to the end of June, and that it would be reintroducing dividend payments to shareholders.
