The competition watchdog has ordered JD Sports to sell Footasylum two and a half years after the £90m takeover was announced.
The sportswear retailer’s chief executive, Peter Cowgill, said the ruling “defies logic”.
JD Sports is reviewing its options and could take the decision to appeal, which would mean an unprecedented fourth review by the authority. Otherwise it will have to put the Footasylum brand and its 65 stores on sale.
