Avison Young has hired Lesley Males  (pictured, left) as a director in its insight team to expand the firm’s research capabilities in the retail sector. She joins from Capita.

Geoff Machen (pictured, right) has joined CBRE in Manchester as assistant surveyor in the national planning and development team. He previously worked for Turley.

Cushman & Wakefield has strengthened its Glasgow team with the appointment of senior surveyors Jane Smith in the asset management team and Nicola Wright in project and development services.

Savills Manchester has appointed Robert Waterhouse as an associate in its development team to provide consultancy advice to housebuilders, developers, property companies and landowners.

The Manchester office of Colliers has appointed surveyor Dan Margolis to the national office team to advise occupier and landlord clients across the North West. The office has also promoted Paddy Kennedy, Nathan Khanverdi and Chris Ward to associate directors; James Strong to senior surveyor; and Kasha Kopiowski-Hunter to lead administrator.

JLL has appointed Blessing Buraimoh as EMEA head of diversity and inclusion for workforce advisory. She will be responsible for supporting clients across the region in building diverse and inclusive workplaces.

Karen Mahrous has joined Clarion Partners as senior vice president and head of ESG based in New York.

Romina Nejad and Gary Sherwin have joined Martin’s Properties as investment consultant and finance business analyst respectively.

Quadrant has appointed Charlotte Rogers as an associate partner in its UK retail and asset management division. She previously worked at Commerz Real and Lambert Smith Hampton.

Unite Students has appointed Paul Watson as director of central operations. He joins from IHG and has more than 16 years of operating experience.

Law firm Steele Raymond has added to its residential development team with the appointment of new homes co-ordinator Kayleigh Ryan and legal assistant Sammy Hacklett.

Henley Investments has appointed Michael Samaha as managing director of business development.

Barings has appointed Ben Pile as head of residential investing and asset management for Europe.

Savills has appointed Scott Newcombe as head of its new EMEA data centre advisory team. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the IT and data centre sectors and joins from Digital Realty.

Developer Mulbury has bolstered its technical team with the hire of Chris Brady as director and Renata Bochenek-Gasiorkiewicz as manager to drive its housing pipeline across the North West.

Valesco Group’s real estate team has hired Amit Thakkar and Alexander Giergen as vice presidents, and Ashleigh Adams as an associate.

Obituary
Sam Rosen, co-founder of Burford Group, passed away on 4 October, aged 70. He founded the company with partner Nick Leslau and it was floated in 1987.
