Haringey shoots down Spurs’ Goodsyard plans

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has been refused consent for 867 homes at the redevelopment of the Goods Yard in north London.

Councillors at Haringey’s planning committee voted 6-4 to block plans, despite a recommendation to grant approval from planning officers. Members raised concerns over height, density and impact on heritage assets.

Detailed plans had proposed a series of buildings of up to 32 storeys across two main sites – the Goods Yard and the Depot – superseding previous consents for smaller schemes, which were approved at appeal.

The six-acre site was previously used as a construction ground associated with the new stadium. The plans will be referred to the mayor of London.
