Investment manager Schroders Capital has hired Rob Prescott as an asset manager in Manchester, as it strengthens its real estate team in the city.
Prescott joins from real estate consultancy OBI Property after more than a decade of working in the North West property market.
In his newly created role, Prescott will support the real estate team on assets across regional mandates, including the Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust and Schroders Regional Office Property Unit Trust. The team also manages Schroder Capital’s City Tower and 1 Spinningfields.
Schroders has grown its presence and activity in Manchester notably since opening its office at 2 St Peters Square earlier this year.
This month the company said fund manager Philip Scott would relocate to London from Manchester after it won the mandate to look after the Greater Manchester Pension Fund’s £700m property portfolio. Nick Montgomery, head of UK investment for real estate, said further new hires are on the way.
