French engineering services provider Egis is set to move into Exchange Quay in Manchester after securing a multi-year contract by local authorities earlier in 2021 to help deliver the Clean Air Zone.
Egis has signed an initial five-year lease term for 4,775 sq ft of offices on the third floor of building 8 at Exchange Quay. It will be the company’s third UK office and its first in the North. The new Manchester office will be made up of new recruits, creating about 60 new jobs for the region.
Exchange Quay has 435,000 sq ft of office space and accommodates more than 4,000 workers.
The deal with Egis is the third letting that has completed within the building, following deals with RW Invest and Debt Support Services.
Till Asset Management – which has managed the building since 2019 – has undertaken a £500,000 investment programme at Exchange Quay.
Nigel Coltman, managing director for Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone at Egis, said: “Being a sustainably focused company, it was important for us to choose an office base in an area that had a focus on regeneration and innovation, and Exchange Quay was the ideal choice.
“The location is great for transport links around Greater Manchester and there is a sense of community across the Exchange Quay campus which I know our employees will really enjoy and play a part in.”
CBRE acted on behalf of Egis on the deal. Colliers and Canning O’Neill are joint agents on the scheme.
