Savills has recruited Ed Crockett as director in its operational capital markets team.
Crockett has more than 20 years’ experience in build-to-rent. He worked at Abrdn for 15 years as residential fund manager and later head of residential investment, growing assets to £1.3bn across 14 funds.
He left Abrdn last year as part of a string of high-profile exits, following a restructuring of the asset manager’s real estate business.
Crockett will be based out of Savills’ Edinburgh office and will work across multi-family, single-family, student accommodation, co-living, senior living and healthcare.
Ben Brough, head of development for Scotland at Savills, said: “With the anticipated growth in the Scottish BTR sector we are delighted to have Ed join us. His first-hand experience of the sector brings an unrivalled expertise our clients can benefit from.”
Andrew Brentnall, head of UK residential investment and development at Savills, added: “His experience and drive will be a huge asset for us, and for our clients.”
Crockett said: “I look forward to a new opportunity to drive increased investment into the sector.”
