Brighton Pier Group cautious about costs as sales rise

The owner of Brighton Pier and a Yorkshire theme park has reported a big rise in sales, but warned of major costs on the horizon.

Brighton Pier Group, which also owns the Lightwater Valley theme park, nine bars and eight crazy golf centres said in a trading update that sales had improved by 31% on 2019, to reach £22.7m.

But chief executive Anne Ackord said the company had faced cost increases of “considerable magnitude” over the past three to four years and would be “waiting to see what costs are coming our way”.
