WeWork’s former European chief has opened the first UK site of a new venture which aims to bring flexible workspace to every office building.
Wybo Wijnbergen left his role as managing director for northern Europe in 2020 to found InfinitSpace, which partners with landlords to help people rent space on a flexible basis via an app.
Wijnbergen and his team will manage 60,000 sq ft in Aldgate Tower, E1 – which was formerly managed by WeWork – on behalf of Brookfield under its new brand, Beyond.
The Aldgate Tower site, opening in March, will offer co-working space and private offices on flexible leases. It will also include meeting rooms and events spaces.
InfinitSpace has raised $4.5m (£3.3m) in seed funding and is aiming to manage 6m sq ft across 300 locations in the next five years globally.
Wijnbergen said: “Since the start of the pandemic, flexible working has become the norm for many businesses. This means they need flexible spaces to work in – ones that can be accessed around the clock, are optimised with technology, and provide an exceptional experience to inspire people to travel to a place of work.”
