UKAA chief executive to retire

The chief executive of build-to-rent trade body UK Apartment Association is to step down after almost four years at the helm.

Dave Butler will retire from the UKAA at the end of April.

Butler joined the body in 2018 as interim chief executive, taking over from founding chief executive Michael Green.

Butler was previously director of strategy and change at Grainger and held other roles at Viventi Capital Management and LMS Consultants.

The UKAA has around 310 members, including BTR investors, operators, advisers and suppliers. The body recently announced plans for regional expansion, with new chairs and steering groups to lead Scotland and the North West.

The organisation has launched a hunt for a new chief executive and also an operations director role.

Butler said: “It has been an honour to champion and support UKAA’s members in their diligent work creating the rental communities of today and tomorrow over the past three years.

“The organisations’s growth has been remarkable, and it is a pleasure to be able to retire with such certainty regarding the bright future that UKAA has ahead of it.”
