Plans are under way for a new warehouse development, on the site of an old power station coal yard, in west Yorkshire.
Mountpark Logistics is looking to develop a 1.64m sq ft industrial and storage scheme at the former coal yard of the Ferrybridge C power station in Wakefield, which was decommissioned in 2016. The company has requested an EIA Scoping Opinion for the proposals.
A masterplan proposal for the scheme shows six warehouses of between 170,000 sq ft and 500,000 sq ft.
The 110.5-acre development site is located between the River Aire to the east and the A1(M) to the west. It is also encircled by a railway line and an unpaved access road, which the developer plans to retain.
The site is currently being cleared ahead of redevelopment, with building demolition work ongoing.
