Skyscanner is poised to agree a move to one of Soho’s newest office developments, as the online travel agency targets a significantly smaller London headquarters than its current premises.
The flights, hotels and car rental specialist is in talks to lease two floors at Ilona Rose House, a prime Greek Street block owned by Soho Estates.
The move would see Skyscanner take the sixth and seventh floors at the building, which contain just under 23,000 sq ft of office space and nearly 5,400 sq ft of outdoor terraces.
It would represent a significant downsize from Skyscanner’s existing 45,000 sq ft office, a flexible space at 338 Euston Road, NW1, run by British Land’s flex operator Storey.
Completed last year, Ilona Rose House contains 300,000 sq ft of office and retail space across eight storeys. It also includes three subterranean levels containing 30,000 sq ft of space, which function as creative and post-production offices for Warner Bros.
Floors one to five remain available, with floor plates ranging from 18,592 sq ft to 15,527 sq ft. Gerald Eve is marketing the building on behalf of Soho Estates, while JLL is representing Skyscanner.
Skyscanner was bought by Chinese travel agency giant Trip.com Group in 2016 for £1.4bn, in the largest tech travel deal in Europe. It employs around 1,500 people across eight offices worldwide, including Barcelona, Singapore and Tokyo.
Soho Estates, Skyscanner, Gerald Eve and JLL all declined to comment.
