Juan Miguel Marinas has been promoted to the newly created role of head of asset management at Savills IM.
Marinas will report to Kiran Patel, global CIO and deputy CEO, and will take on the role in addition to his current responsibilities as director of asset management for Spain and Portugal.
In his new role he will be responsible for asset management operations across the business, including management of key service providers such as property managers, as well as overseeing the integration of ESG and technology into the asset management business.
Prior to his four years leading asset management for Savills IM in the Iberian peninsula Marinas spent a decade as director of asset management at Zaphir Asset Management.
He has also worked for logistics developer Coperfil Real Estate Group.
Marinas said: “I am excited to be taking on these new responsibilities in addition to my current role. Asset management operations hold an increasingly important role in the real estate investment industry. The acceleration of long-term trends brought about by the pandemic have necessitated a rapid evolution within the sector, and I look forward to working with the team to incorporate the ESG, regulatory and risk management requirements demanded by both clients and wider society as a whole.”
Patel added: “We are thrilled to appoint Juan Miguel to this newly created role. His promotion will help us strive for greater standardisation, efficiency, coordination and quality of execution across countries in the many facets of asset management as we continue to support growth.”
