Art-Invest Real Estate and co-developer Sellar have secured outline planning consent for its 4.5-acre Canada Water Dockside scheme.
The Bjarke Ingels Group-designed development sits next to British Land’s own Canada Water scheme. It will include 1.5m sq ft of workspace across three buildings, as well as community spaces and food and beverage space on the ground floors. Southwark Borough Council gave the plans the go-ahead on Monday.
Detailed reserved matters applications will be submitted in the coming months. Art-Invest expects to start work on-site next spring.
Ali Abbas, managing director of Art-Invest UK, said: “Achieving this important milestone allows us to move ahead in creating a new gateway for a revitalised Canada Water town centre. By bringing together the area’s parks, squares and docks we will be able to connect the existing and new communities in new spaces for people to spend time in and enjoy whilst creating opportunities for businesses small and large to make the area their new home.”
