Cala secures two sites for new homes in South East

Cala Homes has secured two sites in West Sussex and Surrey, with potential to deliver more than 200 homes.

A 23-acre former agricultural site on Broad Road in Hambrook, near Chichester, has full planning permission for 118 new homes, 36 of which will be affordable. Planning permission was granted in November 2021, comprising a mix of one- to four-bedroom starter and family homes. New public open space, children’s play area, and a community centre will also be delivered.

In Waverley, Surrey, the housebuilder is looking to buy The Royal School, subject to planning consent. The 24-acre site has a draft for 90 new homes, including affordable housing, which proposes to retain and convert the school building to new apartments as well as family homes.

Nick Brown, land director at Cala South Home Counties, said: “We have many years of operational experience in Surrey, having delivered a number of quality homes in the area. We understand the wants and needs of the local community and are thrilled to be adding the school site to our offer.”

Cala secured consent for 190 homes in Milford last year, while also progressing its Ockford Park development in Godalming and Folly Heights in Farnham.
