Managers wanting their staff in the office five days a week are now in the minority.
A survey of more than 1,000 employers by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development suggests that 41% believe flexible working policies have increased productivity, compared with 18% who say they have had a negative impact.
On average, companies expect about 20% of their workforce to work from home all the time once the pandemic is over and 40% of their employees to work from home on a regular basis.
The survey suggests that 57% allow staff to work from home at least one day per week, compared with 50% in a survey in December 2020.
