Planning officers in Bournemouth are being ordered back to the office amid claims that a work-from-home culture prompted a series of administrative errors.
Among them is a pair of 60ft phone masts, initially refused by the Bournemouth and Poole planning authority, which were then erected outside residents’ homes after council officers missed a two-month deadline to block them.
One Bournemouth and Poole councillor claimed the errors could have been avoided had planning officials been working in the office rather than remotely.
