Helmsley Group has acquired a 50,000 sq ft retail space at 19 Coney Street in York in what it called a “multi-million-pound deal”.
The building, occupied by Next and Monsoon, was bought from NFU Mutual.
The deal follows other recent purchases on Coney Street by Helmsley, including numbers 39-43, let to Boots and WH Smith, and 3-7, housing JD Sports, Lush and Mango.
Ed Harrowsmith, investment director at Helmsley, said: “The purchase of 19 Coney Street… is the final piece of the puzzle in enabling us to move forward with our ambitions to realise the potential of this underutilised area of the city.”
Max Reeves, development director at Helmsley, added: “We look forward to continued collaboration with City of York Council and to sharing our vision for Coney Street with the public and other stakeholders and obtain their input over the months to come.”
Knights acted on the purchase for Helmsley.
