Former BH2 partner Neal Scambler is to take a new role advising law firm Herbert Smith Freehills on its global portfolio.
The decision coincides with the long-awaited buyout of Tony Gibbon’s London office adviser BH2 by US real estate giant Newmark.
Scambler is a well-known figure in the London office market. He joined BH2 as a partner in January 2001, having been JLL’s head of City and national agency and a member of its English management board. He switched to a consultancy position at BH2 in January 2019.
Scambler has advised Herbert Smith Freehills on its London portfolio for several years. From September he will take on a larger mandate including its other 24 offices around the world, as well as supporting the real estate team when required.
He said: “After more than 20 years with BH2 I have decided to focus on a new challenge. The timing is right given the culmination of the firm’s sale and my advising Royal London on their recent preletting of their Holborn Viaduct development to Hogan Lovells.
“I am proud of what BH2 has achieved and my contribution, and I wish Tony and his partners every success in their latest venture. I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
