The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is moving its London headquarters.
The department will relocate from 1 Victoria Street, SW1, to government-owned buildings in Whitehall before the end of next year.
In a statement announcing the move, the department said it would reduce the overall cost of the Whitehall estate following the growth of regional offices.
The government wants a quarter of civil service jobs to be based outside of London in the next four years. Some 865 roles have already been moved to Salford, Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Belfast and Edinburgh.
