Anchor chief exec Jane Ashcroft steps down

One of the UK’s largest not-for-profit later living providers has chosen its next chief executive.

Anchor Hanover Group said chief executive Jane Ashcroft (pictured above, left) is stepping down after 12 years in the role and two decades with the company, and will be replaced by Sarah Jones (right), its chief financial officer, in August.

Chairman Christopher Kemball said Ashcroft has been an “outstanding leader for the organisation” during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jones joined the company as finance director in 2014 and has been on the board since 2020. During her time with the company she has helped to oversee a refinancing that secured £650m of sustainability-linked capital, including its first corporate bond.

Jones said: “I am eager to ensure the organisation continues to evolve to meet the needs and expectations of the older people of today and tomorrow, and I also want to build on our influence in this socially vital debate with government and other stakeholders.”
