Birmingham’s tallest building nets consulting firm

Audit, tax and consulting services firm RSM has become the latest occupier to take space at 103 Colmore Row, Birmingham’s tallest office building.

The firm will take 12,123 sq ft on the 10th floor of the 26-storey property, which is being developed by EPISO 4, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners and Sterling Property Ventures.

RSM has signed a 10-year lease at 103 Colmore Row and will join tenants including Browne Jacobson, Gallagher, Grant Thornton, Knight Frank, Shoosmiths, Tilney Smith & Williamson, and x+why. The building is now 70% let or under offer.

Mark Taylor, regional managing partner at RSM UK, said: “As a premium building in the city centre, 103 Colmore Row aligns nicely with our brand and status in the market. The building’s strong ESG credentials was a key attraction, along with its ability to accommodate our hybrid working approach.

“It also gives us plenty of scope for growth over the next few years. With 50 new starters set to join our Birmingham office this August, we look forward to seeing our team grow, particularly through boosting our graduate intake.”

James Howarth, managing director of Sterling Property Ventures, added: “Having an office that is environmentally friendly is of increasing importance to ethically and sustainably minded businesses of which RSM is testament to. Having occupiers of this calibre choose 103 Colmore Row, with its award-winning ESG credentials is another demonstration of the flight to quality that’s happening in the office market more widely.”

103 Colmore Row comprises 223,631 sq ft of grade-A, BREEAM “Excellent” office space, as well as a two-storey top-floor restaurant and ground-floor café – to be operated by D&D London – and a members’ business club on the 18th floor.

It is the first commercial office building in Birmingham’s central business district to link up with Birmingham’s low-carbon District Energy Scheme and has an EPC rating of A.
