Riverstone has appointed Martin Earp as its new chief executive officer as it eyes a rapid expansion.
The London-focused senior living specialist’s first site, in Kensington, is due to open later this month.
Earp, formerly CEO of Australia’s Campus Living Villages, takes over from Jason Leek, who has led Riverstone since 2019. Under Earp, Campus Living Villages grew to more than 45,000 beds across four counties with a team of 1,300 people.
Earp also has a successful track record in development-related consultancy, which Riverstone hopes will prove invaluable as it builds out its portfolio.
Riverstone chair Penny Hughes said: “Martin has deep experience of creating scale at pace in operationally-focused real estate businesses, and I look forward to working with him to deliver our growth.”
Riverstone, which is backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, specialises in providing high-quality living in premium London locations.
It currently has three residences in the pipeline. The first will open this month in Kensington, providing 190 apartments. A second residence in Fulham will have 161 new apartments and is scheduled to open in autumn.
Most recently Riverstone acquired a site on Bishops Avenue, adjacent to Hampstead Heath, which will provide 93 apartments.
Riverstone wants its residences to have “the feel of a members’ club”. Facilities include a neighbourhood Italian restaurant from chef and Masterchef judge Robin Gill, a spa and pool, a cinema and concierge services as well as on-site professional care.
Hughes added: “Jason has laid excellent foundations for the future growth of Riverstone; we thank him for the significant contribution he has made and wish him well in his next step.”
