Affordable homes provider Storm Housing Group has been granted registered provider status by the Regulator of Social Housing.
Storm plans to deliver 5,000 homes by 2027. The company has raised more than £100m of annual investment from Social Impact Investment Funds to acquire and build out new homes.
With registered provider status Storm will broaden its geographical reach.
The affordable housing provider currently has ongoing projects in Stoke, and has planned developments in the Midlands and Lincolnshire.
Storm Housing Group managing director Sam Roden said: “This status will enable us to realise our vision of creating new, high quality, sustainable homes and to create a lasting legacy of social housing for people throughout the UK.”
