Cushman & Wakefield has hired JLL national director Ben Binns as head of cross-border retail agency for EMEA.
Binns held a similar role at JLL, as head of cross-border retail and leisure in its EMEA retail team.
Before joining JLL in 2011, he spent five years at King Sturge, based in Central and Eastern Europe.
At C&W, Binns will mainly work with retail and leisure brands looking to move into new global markets, as well as their prospective landlords. He will join the agency early next month.
Robert Travers, head of EMEA retail at C&W, said: “Cross-border retail and leisure is an area in which Cushman & Wakefield has always excelled in providing senior-level advice.
“Ben is one of the few people with the experience and detailed knowledge of markets across the region to provide clients with the value-adding insight into where they need to be and why.”
Binns said he was joining the agency at “a time of renewed confidence for the retail sector”. He added: “Physical retail and leisure destinations remain a key part of the retail mix but operators need to ensure they get their location strategies right to succeed.”
