Property developer to save Derby FC

Clowes Developments’ David Clowes is set to takeover Derby Football Club today, according to the club’s joint administrators.

Quantuma announced over the weekend that it had formally accepted an offer from Clowes to buy the beleaguered club.

Clowes, via Clowes Developments, emerged as the potential new owner of the Rams after US businessman Chris Kirchner withdrew his offer.

The local businessman has already agreed to purchase Pride Park and issue the club an interim loan.

The football club has been in administration since last year and was relegated from the Sky Bet Championship last season after having 21 points deducted.
