Witney in Oxfordshire has become the first English town to follow Wales’ example and introduce a blanket 20mph speed limit.
The lower limit will apply to all residential streets after it was approved at meeting chaired by the leader of Oxfordshire county council yesterday. The authority was planning to spend up to £8m over three years to set up reduced speed limits.
