New strategy and operations lead for Stockport MDC

Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation has named Frances Jones as head of strategy and operations.

In this newly created role, Jones (pictured) will support the MDC in driving forward its 130-acre regeneration masterplan, which has a GDV of £500m and will see the creation of up to 4,000 homes, workspace, amenities and transport improvements over the next 15 years.

Jones’s former roles include associate director at the Centre for Local Economic Strategies and senior manager at Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Tower Hamlets Council.

Paul Richards, chief executive of MDC, said: “At the MDC, we’ve made substantial progress in just three years, by establishing strong relationships with private and public sector partners that share this vision. Frances will play a vital role in further establishing a collaborative approach, with both existing and new partners, as the MDC moves into the next phases of its masterplan.”
