Coffee and pastries business Patisserie Valerie is to shut nine cafes that have not recovered “as well as expected” following the pandemic.
The firm, backed by Irish private equity firm Causeway Capital, said it has “faced a period of unprecedented challenges in recent times” and following a review of its estate would close nine stores.
Stores that will close are Castle Lane, Donegal Square and Forestside in Belfast, Dundee, Glasgow Central, Eastbourne, Exeter Victoria Station in London and Windsor.
Subsidiary VP Retail Limited will cease to trade following the closures.
