Bristol Zoo is to be put up for sale as it closes it main site tomorrow to move to a new site north of the city.
The 12-acre site, on the edge of Clifton Downs, has been the zoo’s home for 186 years. Owned by the Bristol Zoological Society, the site is to be sold with planning permission for sustainable homes.
The new zoo, at the site of its Wild Place Project, will open off the M5 in 2024 using proceeds from the sale.
